Hi

4 months into BR now, enjoying the freedom from the non stop letters etc, best move we ever made.

As I'm on benefits only (long term disabled) I am not paying anything via a payment order etc. I have found now that there is enough surplus cash to buy a motorbike which would be for recreation only, my main vehicle is a motobility car. Might sound funny being disabled and having a motorbike but I did have one before BR and managed.

Question is, can I buy a motorbike whilst BR, no credit needed, would only be an old cheapie, If I bought one would the OR want it or frown upon it, and would I have to tell him? If that is the case I'll happliy wait until discharge.

Thanks in advance

Duncan

am not sure if they would frown upon it as you have already have a car so is unnessasary to have a bike as well?? but if it is only a cheap one then maybe they wont be too bothered?

if it was me i would wait anyway to be on the safe side. you probably wont have to wait a year anyway, they will assess your case again after about 6 months to see if situation has changed, which in your case it probably wont have, then they just usually do an early discharge if they know its not worth persuing.

I was only Banktrupt for 7 months!

Chances are it would be viewed as an asset within the bankruptcy and as such claimed by the Trusee. I would wait till your out of bankrutpcy then you can do what you wish.
