 Post subject: can creditor access my bank account if debt is in husband's

debt in my husband's name, can creditor access my bank account, we live in scotland, and have a joint bank account i was going to transfer funds to a bank account in my own name, if a loan is in his name only can they touch my bank account

No, if a loan is in his name he cannot take anything from your account.

In fact unless it is specified otherwise they should not take money from a joint account to pay a single account but we would ALWAYS advise separate accounts for the reason that if it has been taken, it is difficult to get back!
