hello' i,m about to be made bankrupt very soon
with help i had from the c.a.b.
i,m in debt to the tune of £19,500 with credit cards i,ve collected
over 9 years . i,m on benefits (income support)
i did work part time for a few years and informed the dss of this.
my problem is when i applied for some of the cards i stated that
i earned more than i did so it was more favorable to my application
i,m now very worried the o.r. will find this out and i,ll get done for
fraud or some other offence.
has anybody been in a similar situation, what can the o.r. find out
have i got reason to worry.

phil

I think you may get BRU if you agreed to OR you make mistakes..read BRU/BRO.That means under restriction order from 2 to 15 years..

Well, the bottom line is that the OR can find out absolutely anything they want to. So it's important that, when they ask, you tell them the absolute truth, because they'll find out anyway and it won't be to your advantage if you've hidden anything.

On the other hand, I think a lot of people exaggerated their income on credit applications. The OR, if they discover this, will take into account how much you borrowed/the credit limit, what the purpose of getting this credit was (daily living or squandering), and if you had the intention of paying it back. I think the last one is the most important, they are very against people who take out the credit and have no intention or ability to repay it. Understandably.

However, on what you've said so far you won't get done for fraud. The worst that could happen is the BRU, which simply means that the restrictions placed on you in bankruptcy are continued for a specified number of years.
