Hi

I'm new and need some information please. I have applied to a debt management company to deal with my debts but am now thinking it may not be the right move. I have a mortgage which I can't afford, my ex husband is now paying it for me which is fine, we live together for the sake of my mentally ill son. I have debts of 18K on credit cards, I have 5 credit cards, the largest amount if 6K. My question is what are the chances that they will put a charge on my house, the DMC have told me that it is unlikely but after reading some of the members stories I'm worried. I would be greatful for some help. Thanks

Hi,
Firstly are you going with none fee dmc, because I made the mistake of paying around £88 per month to a dmc and then found payplan who are free and I have never looked back, they are brilliant, there is also cccs who are free.

I have a charge on my house, but to be honest I worried for nothing as the courts said they would never consider forced sale to get the creditors money back,so its sitting there and getting paid exactly what the dmc arranged to pay in the first place,so a charge is not really anything to worry about.

Hope this helps,

disney

I cannot put it any better than Disneylover has put it!

Just don't be paying a DMC money to do it for you as Payplan and CCCS will do it free. Fact you are paying a DMC will not mean they can stop any further action whatever they try and say.
