Simon Wiggins has worked in the money advice field since 1990 when working as a debt counseller at Oxford City Council’s Money Advice Unit.
He initially trained at the National Money Advice Training Unit in Birmingham covering areas such as County Court Advocacy and means tested benefits to self-employed tax and insolvency options.

Simon has extensive experience advocating on behalf of clients at both the County & Magistrates Courts and has assisted clients in relation to many different issues ranging from charging orders and set aside applications to defending possession actions and bailiff warrants. Simon has worked extensively in the insolvency field both in relation to personal insolvencies and individual voluntary arrangements.

He has also worked for a well known employee assistance provider for many years and continues to do so as well as for one of the UK’ s main IVA providers and the BBC.

As a web site moderator he provides free advice and assistance via the Debt Questions web forum as well as other sites from time to time including BBC online. He has provided in depth casework assistance for clients of Credit Action one of the UK’s leading debt advice charities as well as acting as a trainer for the Money Advice Trust.

Simon has also worked for National Debtline the UK’s leading telephone based national advice service as well as on a self employed basis as a trainer and money advice consultant.
Simon has also served as a national committee member for the Money Advice Association, the professional body to which most UK money advice workers belong, as well as being a regional chair for a number of years.

He lives in Pembroke with his wife and family.
