Bankrupt

Hi there,
I declared myself bankrupt in the court last week and am due to have that telephone call with the person from the insolvency dept in 10 days or so. I have just remembered a debt which i forgot to put on the forms, it's a small debt of around £250, do you know if it's possible to just tell these people the situation, giving my ref number from the court etc. Will they then stop chasing or will the fact that i didnt list them going to mean they can still chase me for the payment???
Regards,
Robert.

Hi Robert Don’t worry The debts covered by your bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy is what’s known as a "class action" which is one of the reasons that they are usually advertised in your local paper and the London gazette This basically means that all the debtors debts that existed at the date the order was made are covered whether scheduled to the original application or not unless specifically excluded as being provable for insolvency purposes such as is the case with magistrates courts fines and child maintenance arrears. Take details of this debt along with you to your interview if its face to face and the OR's office dealing with your case will deal with this and all your other creditors Hundreds of people omit debts in error and there is never a problem If you get a telephone appointment then copy the info and send it all to them with a covering letter explaining you omitted it in error End of story.
In the mean time if you want to send them a copy of your BO advising them in a covering letter that you can no longer deal with the matter and they should contact your Or if they have any further queries will do no harm at all neither would doing the same to all of your creditors. In a months time for any that are still writing or calling repeat the exercise but this time by recorded delivery and this usually stops everything in most cases.
I hope this covers your query ands good luck with the debt free fresh start that you now have. Best wishes
