I am having problems paying my telephone bill - what can you advise?

Firstly, you must get in touch with your service provider as soon as possible. If you ignore the situation they may disconnect you.

Tell them you are having problems and explain why. If possible send them a copy of your income and expenditure form.

Ask about budget schemes that spread payments weekly or monthly over the year.

Compare your phone service provider with other companies to see if you can get a cheaper deal - www.phonebills.org.uk.

If you have a dispute with your telephone company contact Oftel www.oftel.gov.uk for assistance.

If you think the problem is part of an overall debt problem seek advice from one of the following:
