I am having problems paying
my water bill - what can you advise?
Firstly, be reassured that water
companies are not allowed to disconnect your water supply for non-payment.
They can, however, take you to court to recover the money you owe.
If you are having problems with
payments:-
Contact your water supplier and
explain the problem.
Ask about budget schemes that spread payments weekly or monthly
over the year.
If you are a local authority tenant, ask if you can pay your water
bill with your rent.
If you are a single occupier of a large property then the installation
of a water meter could
drastically cut your charges.
Some water authorities have Charitable Trusts that will help customers
who are having difficulties.Ask if you might qualify.
If you have a dispute with your
water company, contact Ofwat www.ofwat.gov.uk
for assistance.

the problem is part of an overall debt problem seek advice from
